Standard 7-Piece RPG Polyhedral Set
Tetrahedron
A D4 is a four-sided die shaped like a regular tetrahedron, generating discrete numbers from 1 to 4 with an equal 25% probability per face.
Cube (Hexahedron)
A D6 is a classic six-sided cube die with faces numbered from 1 to 6. Each face has an identical 1 in 6 (16.67%) chance of appearing on any roll.
Regular Octahedron
A D8 is an eight-sided polyhedral die shaped like an octahedron, yielding outcomes from 1 to 8 with a 12.5% chance per face.
Pentagonal Trapezohedron
A D10 is a 10-sided die shaped like a pentagonal trapezohedron with numbered faces from 0 to 9 or 1 to 10, each possessing a 10% probability.
Regular Dodecahedron
A D12 is a 12-sided die shaped like a regular dodecahedron with outcomes from 1 to 12. Each face has an 8.33% chance of occurring.
Regular Icosahedron
A D20 is a twenty-sided polyhedral die shaped like an icosahedron, generating numbers from 1 to 20 with an equal 5.00% probability per face.
Percentile (Zocchihedron / 2xD10)
A D100 is a percentile die producing uniform numbers from 1 to 100. Each outcome represents an exact 1.00% probability.
Popular Multi-Dice Combinations
2D6 Roller
Rolling 2D6 produces a total between 2 and 12 with an expected average of 7. The total 7 is the single most likely roll with a 1 in 6 (16.67%) chance.
3D6 Roller
Rolling 3D6 produces a total between 3 and 18 with an expected average of 10.5. Totals 10 and 11 are tied for the highest probability at 12.50% each.
4D6 Roller
Rolling 4D6 produces a total between 4 and 24 with an expected average of 14.0. The total 14 is the mode with 146 out of 1,296 combinations (11.27%).
2D20 Roller
Rolling 2D20 produces two independent 20-sided rolls. Depending on the ruleset, you can sum them (2 to 40, average 21) or evaluate Advantage (higher of the two) and Disadvantage (lower of the two).
